KOKEBI - Raw materials
Our raw materials are sourced from direct partners in Africa
The selection of our raw materials is as unique as our concept and your skin. You probably already know that all ingredients are ideally suited for all skin types. Therefore, the most important criterion in the selection of each raw material is its multifunctionality. This means that only moisturising, anti-inflammatory oils and oils suitable for sensitive skin go into our bottles and jars.
Abyssinica Noog Oil
The endemic plant from the group of composite plants grows at an altitude of 2300m in the high plateaus of Ethiopia. It accelerates cell regeneration. Antioxidants also neutralise free radicals, which can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and age spots (linoleic acid and V C). The oil of this plant also contains many proteins and is rich in vitamin C.

Black Cumin Oil
Even in ancient times, the skin was cared for with this precious oil to revitalise it, moisturise it and prevent premature lines.
What is contained?
Black cumin contains many important minerals such as zinc, selenium, magnesium and amino acids as well as several vitamins such as beta-carotene B2 and B6. The essential oils contained are said to have antioxidant, disinfectant and antifungal effects.
The largest part consists of unsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic acid. It belongs to the essential fatty acids that our body cannot produce itself. The vitamins biotin, zinc, beta-carotene, B2 and B6 ensure a beautiful complexion. Black cumin oil can also serve as a disinfectant for minor injuries.

Bulbine Frutescens
The raw material comes from wild collections in South Africa-Limpopo. The pressed juice from the fleshy leaves contains ingredients that have been known to the locals for centuries. In fact, the juice immediately soothes the skin and supports wound healing. We tried it and were convinced right away. It increases the water and especially glycerine content in the human skin. It can therefore reduce the signs of ageing and increases the hydration and elasticity of the skin.
Very interesting is the influence on aquaporin-3 (AQP-3) expression. AQP-3 is a small membrane protein found in human skin that facilitates the transport of water and glycerol in the basal layer of the epidermis.

Astaxanthin
The red rain alga Haematococcus pluvialis, also called blood rain alga, is the anti-ageing hero of all. It is used to produce the protective substance astaxanthin, which neutralises free radicals, prevents visible signs of premature skin ageing and repairs existing skin damage. The colour of the active substance can vary from light red to dark red.
Astaxanthin is also a natural light protector without interfering with the synthesis of vitamin D. It is also a natural skin protector.
- It protects collagen and thus the skin from free radicals.
- it stops enzymes from breaking down collagen and thus stops skin ageing.
- protects against photo ageing and hyperpigementation.
